About

A Brief History…

Kelvy and Sita have been working together since meeting over spilled potpourri in the fall of 2000, supporting a not-quite-memorable event, following some internal urgency to be of service. In the past few years they have been collaborating within The Value Web on projects where graphics are one component of large-scale process design and facilitation. Over hot tea on a cold winter’s day in 2011, in a memorable fireside chat, they acknowledged that the world seemed to be calling for increased visual aid, in all kinds of new contexts. While Kelvy and Sita both previously ran their own independent graphic facilitation businesses (kelvybird.com and visiblethink.com), they decided that as a team they could be more effective in meeting this growing need. And, it would be more fun…
With the expansion of the graphic facilitation field, they also recognize an opportunity to help decipher the practice as it becomes more familiar in the public domain – particularly through workshops and other educational outlets. By providing a platform for the more seasoned practitioners to share their experience, learnings, and thinking, dpict hopes to benefit humanity as we shift into a new global paradigm. It’s time to serve the largest collective possible, through many small, memorable pictures. (A lofty goal indeed – but where would we be without lofty goals?) Our Trusted Network…

If for any reason we are not available we will try to find an appropriate fit for the job from our network of trusted practitioners. These are people that we have worked with for over 10 years and who we collaborate with frequently on a number of other projects. Examples of their work and specialties are available upon request.

A Note about Branding…

If you are interested in incorporating process design and facilitation into your session, we may chose to brand our engagement with you as The Value Web. The Value Web brand is used when we engage at a process design and facilitation level in projects that we believe to be important to the global health of our planet (explicitly or not – it’s not only work with NGOs). These sessions generally require considerably more upfront engagement with the content and in the design, and generally (although not always) require more people to support the event. We invite you to contact us to learn more about the difference between dpict, llc and The Value Web – together we can find the approach/solution that best suits your organizational needs.
