We worked with dpict to create one of the most spectacular creative events Cincinnati (or even the country) has ever seen. BLINK was born in a windowless basement. Mike Fleisch guided the process with seamless expertise, teasing out answers to huge issues. His scribing was a beautiful way to allow participants to see what their mind’s eye was thinking. Mike surfaced rich nuggets, leading to process driven results. This important session framed a conversation for creative future-casting and collaborative outcomes.I only wish I could clone them.
Once you experience Dpict’s natural knack for facilitation, traditional methods of brainstorming and strategic planning seem outdated. Dpict opens up future landscapes through expansive, fun, and productive engagements. We used Dpict for a board retreat. They facilitated conversations concerning new building plans, and the process of evaluating our Mission, Vision, and Values. Scribing allowed the participants to open up in less linear ways. The group captured ideas, saw them represented, and could then spin off in other exciting directions. Their ability to keep conversations going with momentum and energy while capturing a full range of ideas is amazing. At each of these events, people left energized, engaged, and excited that their voice was heard and honored.
Dpict empowers teams to weave new narratives about the future of their work. They listen. They collaborate. They create space for connection and clearly communicate the change that you are currently experiencing. Scribing is a living system. It is both more approachable and more memorable than traditional forms of documentation. Dpict’s scribes have the ability to take speech—not to simply record—and extend the meaning of what is said.
I have worked with Sita for over 10 years, and have found her graphic recording and facilitation to be among the best I have experienced around the world. Her ability to bring to life complex and ambiguous strategic issues for business executives has been a powerful addition to my strategic planning and visioning work. Her incredible artistic ability along with a deep grounding in business and management theory is a rare and powerful combination. I highly recommend Sita and her colleagues at Dpict as among the best in the business.
Many regard graphic facilitation as a tool to help convey complex ideas to students, but I see it as a two-way street. My interactions with Sita have been just as enlightening for me as for my students. She helps me synthesize ideas and communicate them clearly to others, but I find her artwork also reveals connections that I didn’t see before, sometimes even clarifying my own understanding of the concepts that I teach!
They listen for the signals in the noise. Sita felt like a true thought partner throughout the evolving design of our meeting. She takes diverse, diffuse inputs from large group discussion and translates verbiage into memorable visual metaphors with tremendous meaning. The level of clarity through their dynamic visuals is sophisticated, capturing the essence with impressive results.
Their ability to listen with intent, to create pictures “in the moment” that are fun and creative, and to assess what their clients need at exactly the right time is amazing. There is no comparison. Their scribing method reflects every participant’s contributions with warmth and ease, which immediately engages everyone involved. They quickly instill client confidence through their thoughtful—yet spontaneous—ability to recommend practical interventions that captivate and engage both small and large groups. They are incredible partners and collaborators and it is a joy to work with them.
This is an organization which understands community and how to work intimately with individuals and organizations to bring forth the best of all involved. Their team members offer their expertise as facilitators in teaching self-organization and design of living systems. They are capable of working with tremendous diversity and assisting communities to find solutions to sticky ongoing problems and conditions.
Sita captured conversations in-between and among ideas, which is often lost in the linear nature of notes. Using high-level listening she synthesized and highlighted important concepts. Her scribing gave people a whole new way of engaging with the content and kept people really excited. I actually saw people starting to integrate more visuals in their own personal notes!
I would like to share my appreciation to you for the time, coordination, and efforts both in planning and execution to ensure that the Knowledge Wall for our [faculty development] conference highlighted our college’s mission and learning models. I want to commend you on the visual flow of the vast information gathered and the diverse elements offered to emphasize points. We have received many accolades from faculty on the Knowledge Wall and how it helps them to reflect on their own learning from the conference.
